I mentioned in an earlier post that I (we) got a new camera. Well, here it is!
NIKON D3100

Side with zoom lens AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED
I’m not even going to pretend that I know what that zoom lens means. I have the basics down, though. Turn on camera, point, click, done. To zoom, just change the lens. Easy! Someday I’ll learn more about it. Someday when I have lots of time. Not like I haven’t had oodles of time for the last number of months, but … someday …
Chris and I went out with the cameras (this fancy one and my old standby that fits in my purse) and took some photos at Fort Tryon Park. I have to say, as intimidating and bulky as the new camera is, it takes fantastic pictures. Here are some examples. The nice crisp ones were taken with the new camera by Chris, and the dull, lifeless ones were taken by me with my little camera (no pictures were retouched).

George Washington Bridge–old camera

George Washington Bridge–new camera
Okay. Now that you’ve seen the difference between the two (I hope you did), here are a few more pictures from the new camera, and a little photo slideshow put together by Chris:

Squirrel, blue sky–new camera (I LOVE squirrels! They’re so cute and I want to kiss their tummies!)

Yay!
