Nothing can cut through the sound of music blaring through your ear buds quite like the sharp sound of a person clipping fingernails on a train.
WHY DO THEY DO IT? This is one of the most disgusting things a person can do in a public place where people are stuck on a train or a bus (I say ONE of, because I’ve seen worse).
I took a couple of covert pictures with my iPhone (I pretended to be searching for music - I didn’t want to start a confrontation and risk the person getting mad and rearranging my face), so the pictures are a little grainy (faces have been blurred to protect the guilty).
Here is one of the culprits:
She was okay and seemed to keep to herself during the whole personal hygiene process, but it was still irritating.
This one, though, this was something special. I had initially been sitting in the two-seater to the right of this guy in the photo. Fine. It was when the seat opened up to the left of the guy and the wife moved to sit there in order to take out her nail clippers and CLIP THE GUY’S NAILS, that I just had to get up and change seats:
EWWW! You see where there are little kid legs in the picture next to the woman with the red purse? That is where I WAS sitting until the grooming began. Yuck yuck YUCK!
What is wrong with these people? Do they not see that there are tons of other people on this mode of public transportation? This isn’t their HOUSE. Do they think we WANT to see nail clippings flying through the air and landing on our books and in our hair?
NO!
Ick!
