Kitty stairs

Matilda gets tired of being cooped up in the apartment all the time (don’t ask how I know–I just know). Since we won’t actually let her go outside (unless she’s going to the vet which is not her idea of fun), we occasionally open the front door and let her sneak a peek at the bigger world:
See her in the corner there across the hall? That’s normally about as far as she goes, but sometimes she gets brave:
She didn’t make it all the way upstairs this time, but she did once. That day, we met one of the neighbors (very nice) when she came out of her apartment and Matilda ran to what she THOUGHT was our apartment, but it wasn’t. I scooped her up squirming and meowing and brought her back home. No harm, no foul. I try not to let her do it too much, though …
